I was hoping that some of you here could give me some information on apartment complexes in Dickson City, PA. I'm going to be moving to there and was looking at Timberfalls at Blakey and Summit Pointe. I'm looking for a two-bedroom apartment and Timberfalls is about $100 cheaper and includes heat. However, I know Summit Pointe is much nicer and from what information I have Timberfalls is much more run down. I'll be visiting both about a week, so any help or things to look for is appreciated! Also if anyone else has any other apartment suggestions in Dickson City towards Carbondale area that would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance!

I do know the upper of summit pointe are occupant owned condos,/townhouses the lower are rentals, they are very well kept...dont know much about timberfalls, although it looks to me like the latter would be tough driving in the snowy months..

If Summit Pointe is the complex I'm thinking of (near where the Scranton/Carbondale Highway meets I-81), then I always wondered how people turn left out of the complex.

Very carefully! Seriously...I have seen more than a few fender benders...I would not live there just for that reason...I would check out the one further up on RT. 6 in Blakely...timber falls (?)

Just so you don't go to Summit Pointe thinking that you will be living in Dickson City, it is in Scranton. So if it is Dickson City that you are looking to go then Summit Pointe should be completely off of your list.

Its is literally right on the border, but on the Scranton side. Still, its right next to all of the Dickson City/Scranton shopping around Rt 6. From what I have heard, Summit Pointe is much nicer than Timber Falls.

I guess I was thinking along the lines of a lower wage tax. If that's what they are looking for then they won't find it at Summit Pointe. But thank you for clarifying it for everyone, I really appreciate that, I guess they could be looking more for shopping and the conviences.

I'm just looking in the general area of Dickson City. Thanks for the comments, but what I guess I should have really asked was if anyone had any bad comments or heard any horror stories about Timberfalls. I figured Summit Pointe is much nicer, but I only plan to the be there a year and I'm trying to figure out if it's really going to be worth the extra money. Thanks to everyone who responded.

There is not exactly an abundance of apartment complexes in the area. Most rentals are large houses divided into apartments, or duplex houses. There are a few apartment complexes near Lake Scranton:

You might be better off looking for an apartment that is not in a complex....the apartment complexes tend to be pretty expensive for the area.

I second this post, how in the world could you negotiate this every single day. Especially with all the construction on I-81, alot of traffic gets off the interstate and heads this way for an alternate route to Clarks Summit. I cringe!
