Hi, we're thinking of going to the Blue Ridge flea market this weekend. Is this a good flea market at which to spend a few hours? We like looking for old used items as opposed to new items. Also, is there a charge for admission and parking? We will be coming from Allentown, so I see it's off of 33 in Saylorsburg. Not too bad of a ride. I'm trying to put the info into my GPS system, but I don't have a real address for it, so I can't do it. Does anyone have a physical address for the flea market other than route 33 and old route 115?

Anyway, any information will be appreciated. Thanks much.

Rosanne,

I haven't been there in years, so I'm not too much help for a first-hand account. Years ago there was no charge for admission or parking or anything like that.

I have directions mapped for you from Allentown to Saylorsburg Lumber (which is right across the street from the flea market):

Old Rt 115, Saylorsburg, PA 18353 - Google Maps

Blue Ridge Flea Market

WHEN: Saturdays and Sundays - 7AM to 3:3OPM - mid-April to early November

WHERE: Old Route 115, off Route 33, (RR 5, Box 5059) Saylorsburg, PA 18353. (Monroe County PA.) Located at the old Saylorsburg Drive-In Movie Theatre.

DESCRIPTION: Good old-fashioned outdoor flea market open Saturdays and Sundays 7AM to 3:30PM, April to early November. Lots of vendors offering a variety of old and new merchandise including some antique and lots of collectibles, arts, crafts, produce, and more.

Rosanne,

There is an exit and entrance to Route 33 south adjacent to the flee market. However, since you are coming north; you should pass by the flee market (which will be on your left) and get off at the Saylorsburg exit. That exit has a short exit ramp loops around - you can see that on the map that karen_s provided. You simply make a right on Cherry Valley Road, go a short distance, then make a left on old Route 115. The best parking is between the flee market and Route 33. You simply make a left just after the Route 33 south entrance. It is difficult to find parking along side of the old Route 115 and a little dangerous. The parking has always been free.

This is a good flee market and my wife and I have found numerous items over the years. However; we have not been there in the last year.

not sure if you went.. but if you did, hope you found some goodies. If you go again, make sure to hit Buddy's hot dog stand (in parking lot of S&S homes, right off exit) Much much better grub than at that stand at the flea market..and cheaper, too.

Poconoproud, we did go on Saturday but didn't buy anything. The weather wasn't that great (it looked like it was going to rain at any minute), so the sellers were packing up early. I talked to one of the sellers and was told that it's better to come on a Sunday because there are more sellers, so that's what we will do next time. Thanks for the tip on the hot dogs! We didn't eat at the flea market, but instead drove south on 33, got off at 512 and ate at Burger King.

Rosanne,

If you like fast food and ate at the Burger King; try the Daisy Bar. It is about a quarter mile south of Wind Gap and Route 512 on Route 115. If I recall correctly, I think that Route 115 turns south (from 512) almost across from the BK.

The Daisy Bar makes good cheese steaks and barbeque sandwiches. They are a little more expensive than the BK - but not much.

Glad you did not have any problems finding the place. You might want to check out yard sales in the Wind Gap area. I have found some good deals down there on the weekends.

To find Daisy Dairy Bar, go south on Rt 512 in Wind Gap, then be sure to get into the left lane after McD's and turn left at the light where Wendy's is on your left. Daisy is then on the right-hand side in about 1/2 mile.

I loved the place so much as a child that I named my 1st cat Daisy It is awesome "alternative" fast food!

Also in Wind Gap, if you take 115 north thru town and make a right at the light at the Turkey Hill gas station onto 512 eastbound you'll see a little sports bar/restaurant called "Detzi's" that has great food also...we went for lunch once not during the evening hours and the service was great...not a HUGE place but comfortable and at lunchtime not too crowded and reasonable prices...
