It doesn't really, but it does kill them. They have at least one major story on kudzu and how it can destroy livestock and crops every year. It is sort of "pretty" though, you would think it was part of landscaping sometimes.
Kudzu can infiltrate crops and cause damage there but kudzu does not kill livestock. Cattle and goats will eat it and North Carolina State University did a study in the last year or two on kudzu control using goats. The goats loved it. It's actually quite nutritious.
There is a Kudzu Festival in Blythe S.C. All kinds of things are made out of Kudzu.
