I am moving to NC hopefully by the end of the year (from CA) and education for my 2 kids is a decisive factor (my older one is going to Kindergarten this year) I've been looking for magnet schools offering immersion programs and could only find 1 in Charlotte, SAIL. Are there any other similar schools in the Raleigh area as well?
Also, I would love to hear about the experience from anyone that went/ is going to the German program at SAIL.
Thank you very much for your help!
In Wake County, there is only Spanish immersion, as far as I am aware. However, Wiley is an languages magnet and teaches 5 different foreign languages, including German, if I'm not mistaken.
Hi there,
Honestly, I don't really kow about a school such as SAIL here in the Charlotte Area. However, for your comfort - then again again I don't know if this is something of your interest - there is a huge German community here. AS a matter of fact I volunteer for a Non profit Org that brings hundresd of Exchange students over to the USA. I am currently looking for a house for two german girls. Maybe hosting foreigner would be something that would help with your kids learning the language. That's how my Amercian family lerned Portuguese with me. Again this is maybe something you'd probably consider in the future. I hope that this helps with your decision to move over here. I am sure you're gonna love it.
Best Regards,
Renata Stringer

New Bern has several German manufacturing plants so the local high school's German program is much more than you would expect, plus, I feel sure they have some interaction with the plants.
