We're a family w/children looking to relocate from the northeast down to NC. We have horses and a small sawmill operation and are looking for an area of the state where we'd be able to run both on our homesite. Up here in the northeast the zoning regs are so strict that it is impossible to run equipment on property in many cases. And not to mention taxes.
Does anyone here have or know of any property for rent, sale, lease that sounds like it would work for our needs in NC? We're open to taking over existing operating farms, or renewing an old, abandoned farm as well. If not, maybe some suggestions as to where in the state would be best for our situation. I lived in Alamance county for a few years during college, but have not been back since so have no idea how "built-up" it is over the last decade. Realtors welcome to respond, we'd love to talk. Ideally we are looking for an area within reasonable distance to direct route north... such as I-95. Thanks!

Default Farm site

There is a farm in Clayton NC that may be perfect for your needs. It is a 10 acre lot. 2 acres are cleared and the other 8 are wooded and need clearing. You may email me if interested at vbell611@yahoo.com

I have seen 2 closed sawmill operations in the sandhills area. Hoke county and Moore county. Lots of woods and horses in this area! lol
Carolina Horse Park is in Hoke county.
