I am starting to search out new locations to move to in the next few years. I live in NJ and our taxes are about 10,000. Want much less. House around 2000-2200 sq feet

I like being near a beach that I can take a day trip too. Had this all my life so don't want to give up. We are triathlete's and like being near water - lakes/ oceans, etc.

town feeling.

Thanks for help.

What kind of jobs will you need? That should be the initial driver of your search.

There are 336 houses in Fayetteville for 150-200k at least 2000 square feet.

I'd check out Wilmington and Fayetteville. If you need a job, Fayetteville might be better for you than Wilmington. Fayetteville is 1.5 hour from the ocean and Wilmington is about 5 minutes. Fayetteville and it's metropolitan population are both significantly larger than Wilmington however Wilmington probably has more tourism so I don't know which would feel bigger on a daily basis as I've only stayed there for 1-2 days at a time. Fayetteville does have a river that runs through its East Side and a lot of the older neighborhoods have large lakes. Some good options would be Aaron Lake and Waters Edge off the top of my mind.

For being near beaches, try the Coastal NC forum.

Most likely you are looking at Wilmington or the New Bern area.

Please no more North Easterners. I can spot you guys a mile away and your guys have terrible impatient driving habits.

Wilmington or Greenville would be your best bet, maybe Raleigh as well.
