Nobody cares about the NCAA. Just another pawn of ESPN.
I don't know whether this is true or not, but I do know the following: When an organization like the NCAA tries to claim the high moral ground, hold on to your wallet.
As someone who grew up in Columbia, I can tell you we missed out big time there with the NCAA ban. Columbia was supposed to host numerous baseball tourneys, was talked to be the site for the SEC tourney in basketball as well as being a host city for March Madness as well. Because of the NCAA ban, that all went away along with similar plans for Greenville as well. Now that the ban has been lifted after taking down the flag and the proposed bill similar to HB2 proposed by one SC senator got no support and shot down before it even made it to the floor, were hoping those plans can be put into motion again.
It certainly didnt kill any SC cities by any means, but it certainly caused us to miss some great opportunities.
Some truth here. I live in NJ and have always thought of retiring in NC since it seems to have the charm of the south combined with the progressive attitudes of the north and educated, worldly residents. If it continues, this shift to the right will be a deal-breaker for me.
Yeah ...like a snowball in Hell as soon as North Carolina has to pony up the billions to replace those Federal dollars!
