Looking to move to Hickory area, mainly Granite Falls. Love working with dogs. Anything in the area? How's life in these parts of NC?

Caldwell County's economy is on the skids. Most of the furniture manufacturing jobs have gone overseas. But Walmart is confident things are going to pick up. They are about to open two new Supercenters within ten miles of one another. Google is opening a facility here later this year and we are confident good thing will follow. The retirees who like four seasons should find this area. Best year around weather pattern east of California.
