Why when there are too many sports channels to mention does WRAL in Raleigh have to pre empt some of our favorite Thursday night TV shows with college basketball? I mean who cares about basketball other than other basketball players. It's not like it's a real sport like football, baseball or even NASCAR.
If it's ACC basketball, it's huge around NC, especially when it's time for the big rivalry games. Survive or or Dancing with the Stars loses every time. It's just the way it is.

The Triangle is THE center of ACC Basketball, like Charlotte for NASCAR or (possibly) Birmingham, Alabama for SEC Football. It's what we're known for around the nation, apart from RTP which mainly exists due to the university presence in the first place. I have a friend from DC who calls the Triangle the "Basketball Belt" instead of the Bible Belt, it's huge in this area! We used to watch the ACC tournament in school, and there's nothing bigger than a Duke/UNC basketball game. To quote a friend from Texas, there are three things in NC you don't talk smack about. ACC Basketball, NASCAR, and tobacco.

I'm sure you'll be able to catch up on Dancing With the Stars or Real Housewives of Wherever on Hulu soon.
I guess for those who can't participate in any kind of sport at all TV basketball might be interesting.
