My husband has a job opportunity in Fayetteville, NC. I am reading a lot of concerning information about the city. We have three children so need good school district or private. Any outlying communities close enough for commute and safe? Is Southern Pines too far of a commute to downtown Fay? What about Hope Mills? We are in the Midwest currently, non military.
Thanks!

Hope Mills, Eastover, Grays creek, parts of Spring Lake, and Raeford are all places to consider. The are many many nice neighborhoods. Southern Pines would be way too far to commute to downtown Fayetteville. Especially with our gas prices. We have lots of options in private schools. Here is the link to look up the public schools.

Thank you, I will look into some of these. I've also been looking at Gates Four, but heard there was one other comparable neighborhood in that school district. Do you happen to know the name of ot?

Gates Four for is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the area. Plus it's one of the few gated communities with guards. If that's what you are interested in then you not have many choices. Surry Meadows or Preston are both nice in that same area but they are not gated.

Thank you for your response. Yes, we def. prefer gated. Is that the only one in the area?

The Terry Sanford district is good and wouldn't be any commute to downtown. Look at neighborhoods like Woodlands, Haymount, Huntington Park, Westwood, Kingsford, Murray Hills, etc.
