I am a single mom who moved to PA from MI about a year ago. We do not like it here and as soon as I graduate, want to move from here. We have researched so many different places. We decided on either North Carolina or Georgia. Where should I look at schools and places to rent in NC that are in good neighborhoods?? What is it like to live there? Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

What kind of job will you be looking for? That could help to narrow down your choices.

and what is it that you do not like about PA and would those things be similar in NC/GA/or elsewhere?

And what are you looking for?

NC and GA are way different

and it helps to know yourself and what you are looking for so your question would be answerable

Have you considered Louisville, KY? I thought it was a lovely city when we visited, but was overruled by my wife.

How would you answer a question where someone asked if they should move to Michigan or Pennsylvania?

What are you looking for? The best answer is find a job & then ask about that location.

Use the resources of you college placement office to locate where the jobs are, and then decide. Generally speaking, any place you can find a job will have safe neighborhoods nearby.

North Carolina is a very large, diverse state, so you cannot just say "what it is like to live here." We have very mountainous areas and we have some of the best beaches on the East Coast. We have large cities and miles and miles of farmland. You will need to be more specific in asking about "what living here is like." How can we tell you about "good neighborhoods" when you haven't even listed a city yet? Do you have job prospects? Of course that will steer your search more than anything. The best neighborhood in the state doesn't matter if you can't get a job to live there.

What has put NC in your sights to being with, i.e., what has made you want to live here? You should probably ask about specific qualities and people can narrow down your search of cities/areas based on that. There is no way you can describe "North Carolina as a whole" in one description.

Michigan and Pennsylvania are drasrically different from North CArolina and Georgia is very different from North CArolina.

Like others have asked--

Why do you want out of PA?
Why did you leave MI?
What are you looking for that PA doen't have?
EMPLOYMENT?
Climate? Do you want high humidity and blasting sun, cooler weather and some snow?

HAve you or do you know people in NC or GA? If not you should visit before choosing.
