I was just coming on to ask the same. Mine was a hard color to read to begin with (9, yellow) and its totally faded now. I just renewed it and was wondering if/how to go about getting a new month

I renewed my vehicle registration online and received the sticker in mail. But only the month sticker... Am I supposed to get a year sticker as well?
The sticker I received in mail is Red 12(I think it means December cuz the icon is exactly the same as the November sticker I got last year, just different color).
Next year is 2012, not too difficult to understand. Now if you put it on the left side of the plate (where the month sticker is), you might get a ticket.
The next time you renew you will get a sticker for the 13th month

Its your license plate tag sticker and the registration card validates the car is yours.
I highly recommend to place the card in your vehicle either above drivers visor or glove compartment where you keep your insurance card as both need to stay in the vehicle.
The sticker shows cops that you have current tags valid til 2015 of the month that is shown on left.
Place carefully sticker upper right corner. If there is not a month sticker in upper left, go to your local dmv license plate office.

That's all you get. The sticker with "15" on it means your registration expires in 2015. The sticker is to be affixed to your license plate in the upper right hand corner over the "14" sticker if there is one. The new registration card is proof you renewed your registration.
