In one post I read the gap is closing in taxes. While I am aware you can go to a specific areas website (ie union county) and see what their tax rate is - So if you live there, you only pay taxes to the county - Is this correct?

But it appears if you live in a county but in Meck lines, there are two taxes- this is what is confusing to me, can some explain it further.

Thank you

personal property taxes are collected by the county or city.

so if you live within a city limits you pay city and county taxes.
If you just live in the county you only pay county tax and each county has different tax rate the more rural the county more likely they have lower tax rate.
