There have been studies that show people become addicted to their phones - as well as other electronic devices, to gaming. Being on these devices lights up the same part of the brain that heroin or gambling or other addictions do.

We had a group of late teens/twenty somethings that otherwise appeared "normal" but
apparently they are the cell phones "tool", not the other way around.
