Maybe he thought you knew of his other plans....or wanted to let you know why it was short notice. Really....not sure it's your friend that is the arrogant one here.
I wouldn't look too much into it really... I mean... we all make a variety of plans and hey... they're not always with the same people!
Could he have not mentioned that other plans fell through?... yeah... he probably should have, considering to me it seems like a rather pointless thing to mention. But really.. he did nothing to WRONG you... you just took it the wrong way.
So, last weekend, one of my good friend texts me. He asked me to do something, but the way he phrased it kind of pissed me off, and it got me so angry, I declined.
Here is basically what the text said:
"Since my other plans fell through, so do you want to do blah blah blah".
First off, it makes me feel like I'm playing second-fiddle and is pretty rude. Even if you have other plans that feel through, do I really have to know about it?
I know the friend did not mean any harm by the text, but I just found it really annoying. Does anyone else feel annoyed by texts like these?
I have never personally received a text like that, but if I did I would be offended as well. No one wants to be second or third fiddle. I'd let him know why you were upset and hopefully he will have learned his lesson and this won't happen again.
Don't over-analyze everything and look for ways to get your feelings hurt. Life will hurt your feelings enough without looking for ways to be offended. I am reminded of a friend who was hurt when at the end of her date, the fellow said "I had a good time" instead of " I had a good time with you". LOL!
