I posted on FB when my grandfather died. Several of my friends and coworkers knew so it eliminated me getting asked "How's your grandfather" over & over again. I've seen other people post as well. I don't consider it sad; just a part of life. I've actually sent flowers or cards to those friends I still like but haven't talked to recently, which I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.
I take lots of pics while on vacation but I don't post until I come back. I don't view it as bragging; just sharing my vacation. I love when my friends post pics. Their pics have inspired some of my vacations.
I like facebook. It is certainly a way for me to see family members that I otherwise would not see or hear from. I get to see my nephews children growing up. I only see them personally about 1-2x a year, so it is nice to see them on fb.
I have recently unfriended and blocked a friend from high school and there will be more to come. Everything is racial to her. Everything is about white people treating black people wrong.
Paula Deen this Trayvon that. White people blah blah. Block.
I have hidden what I see from A LOT of people. That way they are not unfriended, but I also don't have to hear about every time they breathe, etc.
There are a choice few that I keep in a way that I see everything they post.
I do not have a FB acount, but I believe people need to be able to interact with and handle all types. Life is not all sunshine and roses, and you can't edit everything that doesn't fit your vision of what the world should be. Social media simply exposes people's intolerance.
"I know I am breaking the rules but I am in love with this man"
To me, she's saying she's screwing a married man, or she's married and screwing around. That's not bragging; that's just wrong and I would unfriend her just for being a h0.

So what? Are you just a sourpuss who can't enjoy the fact that your friends have good lives that they enjoy? Get real.
Oh wait. Aren't you're the ding-dong that rollerbladed an hour & a half one way to his training at work, wouldn't shower after you got there, was habitually late, then fell asleep at his computer on the job, and tried to say it was because he had a low blood sugar, and was asking why he was wrongfully terminated?

I see that I have to edit my friends list again because I am getting so sick of some people bragging and then you have the others who are always negative
Example of Bragging I saw yesterday
1. One friend has someone takes a picture of her kissing her boyfriend and then she posted it on FB with a message saying.........."I know I am breaking the rules but I am in love with this man"
2. One friend posted a picture several pics of him on vacation and every place they went to instead of just staying OFF facebook and enjoying the vacation like he would have done in 1999.
Examples of Negative Posters
1. "So sick of living in this city"
2. 'I'm bored"
3. "I am having a sh*tty day"
I know i am not the only FB person who sees these types of posts in their news feed?
1) I don't necessarily see that as bragging.
2) Depends on how many photos. I always post vacation pics, but I limit the number, and usually don't do it until we get home.
If not to talk about family and vacations, then what is FB for in your opinion?
1-3 meh... unless it was all they posted, all the time.
I don't delete people, I hide them. My mother-in-law has made 20 posts in the last 2 days. I think that is excessive no matter what they are about. Those are the people I tend to hide.
