I've never put much stock in having friends,I'm very self sufficient and my wife says jaded
my world is a very small bubble pretty much my family. I always found friendships to be tedious.

Having friends is fine, I guess. I've always been sort of a loner. I don't have many friends but I think sometimes having friends is a pain in the ass... LOL. I know I'm coming off the wrong way, don't get me wrong, I'm not some creepy uni-bomber type of guy.

I guess what I'm saying is that some people need to have a lot of friends around them, for many reasons, some good and some not so good. I think at the end of the day you have to do what works best for you.

I just find as I get older, that friends come and go, as has already been mentioned, peoples lives get busy and sometimes friends can be a lot of "work" if that makes any sense.

We used to have a friend and it was just exhausting with her, she always had some major drama going and she was always just so needy. She also had a tendency to be oblivious to her surrounding and this came off as really rude at times......

That friend Chowhound was a toxic one, so you were better without her around.
