I have to work really hard to get a date mainly because, I'm not a good looking guy. I'm not the guy women enjoy being seen with. I'm just average looking.
I'm the guy women call "nice", and that's as far as it goes. I'm not they guy women desire. It's tough on my mental well being.
I kind of know what you mean. I deal with that a lot. It does take a lot out of you. Not being desired by the opposite sex can be a let down. Sometimes I wonder If I'll be single forever.
If you're average looking then you just need to step up your game in other areas. That's what I had to do.

Hobbies: Cooking, jazz, book fairs, learning to fly, former sailboat racer, photography, web desgin, fitness training, in good shape, slim muscular build.

I agree RJ, it is nonsense. Even with all of my accomplishments, it's still tough. In order for you to get involved, people have to be at least somewhat attracted to you. Even if you go with the personality, people have to want to interact with you. If you're not one of the "cool kids", you can forget it.
All these listed accomplishments, but no specific mention of anyone's body. Looks can be improved upon.
Chubby or flabby? That's one area of appearance that can be changed tremendously.
Balding? The hair transplants today are fantastic.
There are contact lenses, Lumineers for bad teeth, yoga for posture, skin treatments, etc.

And that's why I sit here with my beautiful wife. Because it is nonsense. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.
Woman have the same issues too! I am in a weird period of my life so I put this "don't even look at me" vibe out there. It is very effective...at least that is what I tell myself, yes really rather effective
The guys that I liked just needed...financial security (for two), big funny bone, a little chubby to make my lithe frame look even more lithe (yes it was always about me), they needed to be Christian, and fun! Even fun being bored on the couch with TV watching....you guessed it Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Homeland and some other new one. Also, I liked them to make frequent geographical relocation - good fun time!
