Even factoring in $5k less I still saved about 50% on my Mo. I don't like to give too much personal info on the net, but I will say that the 09 is the best selling in the manufacturers linup. Even the future car I'm looking into sells for about 40% less for an 07/08 with about 70k miles. It is also the best seller in the manufacturers lineup.
So a 2005 Murano with 70k miles for $16k? Not a bad deal but it's still 5-6 year old car at that point with lots of miles on it and no warranty left. The 1st generation Muranos don't have the best reliability record either.
70k isn't that much. Most cars built in the last 20 years should easily go 200k+. I know the CVT in the earlier models is a concern, but they did get better with each year. The 05+ seemed to be a fairly safe bet, but I looked for an 06 or newer just to error on the side of caution. Mine was a pretty good deal though so I went for it. How do you like your Mo? I'm thinking about a 2nd gen Mo next.
Loudoun firs have a Chilton subscription. Look under Honework Help and Darabases. You can sign in with your library card and access it outside the library. That can help you get parts, and your friend help you repair a problem. And, if the particular issue is too involved, you can then go to an independent mechanic.

Thanks you for all the suggestions guys. Now if I go with an independent mechanic what is a fair price for the labor to place the hose? How about the brackets? I am looking for fair labor prices as I have no clue what the cost should be
Still have the Murano guys, but still dealing with leaks. Went to NIssan the other day and they said the 2 critical repairs I needed were:
Resealing the leaking transfer case $1980
Replacing both cam sensors: $550
And these are things I need to do as well:
Replace leaking oil pan : $290
Replace leaking oil cooler : $230
Replace rear brakes: $390
Replacing leaking axle seal : $80
The cam sensors are an easy fix and cost about $80-90 each. I doubt you need both. I also doubt the pan is leaking either. It's probably just the oil cooler gasket which is a $4 part and a easy fix. $390 is a lot for just rear brakes. Parts would be about $150 plus about 1-1.5 hours labor cost. The axle seal sounds fair. The transfer case is a pain though. I'd keep it, but I turn my own wrenches.

Thank you, I will shop around. My headlight is also out, and its an HID light, I called NIssan and they said its $190 for the bulb, but they said the problem could be a connector and the connector costs $490, they won't know what the issue is till I bring the car in. Anyone familiar with this? Is the connector that expensive or can I get the part somewhere else? Thanks
