If only we all had crystal balls as I don't believe there's anyone out there that hasn't considered up and moving to someplace "new and improved"? I kiddingly tell people I have some gypsy in me as we have moved 3 times in 30 years yet never changed our phone number (same small town: upstate NY)!

But did have a brother run from here last year to the mecca of all transplants; Raleigh NC. And although he loved the weather this winter and he loves all the baggage he left behind, there is a hint of loneliness in his voice when we talk as he describes how easy it would be for us to follow...

And reading about those who left and miss the small town quirks we take for granted, it has made me re-think any plans of ever really leaving the area. I guess the line that got me is "Seeing people you know maybe only by sight, that make you feel connected...." Isn't that all a human being wants is to feel connected? Getting philosophical here, but when I go to the local store for a gallon of milk, you can gaurantee I'll run into one person I know and more often 4 or 5.....could I leave that? Hmmmm, much pondering will go into that answer......
