J-D is a district that has long been an option that local black families have moved to for decades and is where spillover of the substantial black middle class on Syracuse's outer East Side, as part of the district shares a couple of zip codes(13224 and 13214) with that area of the city. Some may go with private schools within the district boundaries such as Holy Cross Elementary, Christian Brothers Academy or Manlius Pebble Hill as well.
Another Upstate suburban school district with a substantial black resident population and median black family income above the current national median family income figure is Gates-Chili, a western suburban SD next to Rochester. Its median black family income for the 2021 5 year US Census information period is $86,914: https://data.census.gov/table?t=Blac...5Y2021.B19113B
That is a little under $2000 more than the national figure of $85,028 for that period and 12.7% of the district residents are black(14.4% inc. in combo and 12.6% non Hispanic alone): https://data.census.gov/table?t=Blac...SDP5Y2021.DP05
District census info: https://data.census.gov/profile/Gate...00000US3611880
It also is near the outer 19th Ward of Rochester(SW Quadrant), which also has a visible black middle class presence(around/west of Thurston Road, around/south of Brooks Avenue and in the Sibley Tract).
I may try to give information for other districts with above average median black family incomes and substantial black resident populations later.
