An interesting article from Le Roy in NE Genesee County(shout out to Scott Pitoniak for the article): https://rbj.net/2019/06/20/late-lero...0-years-later/

His senior year picture from 1963: https://www.classmates.com/siteui/ye.../15405?page=40

Le Roy actually has a small, but visible and long time Black population. This church has been in the community for decades, if not over a century and worships out of the African American tradition: https://www.churchangel.com/church/S...rch-176908.htm

The nearby Caledonia-Mumford SD/area is a very similar community in this regard and both are known for their small school Football programs, as well as rivalry.

Another late great reference from Le Roy: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...rmit-arrington
https://falconefuneralhome.com/tribu.../obituary.html
His junior year picture as the class Vice President in 1944: https://www.classmates.com/siteui/ye...180946?page=32

Another long time family from the community that came originally from VA(Campbell County south of Lynchburg): https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...stus-alexander

I believe that former school is where the church is located and the Arrington family also have roots from VA.

More recent references from this family:

LeRoy Football 2008 Preview

More, previous year: https://www.leroyfootball.com/2007preview/Preview07.htm
Lost to Class C state champ in playoffs in both of those seasons(Bishop Ludden in 2007 and Southwestern(Jamestown) in 2008).

That same website in its into page used to have pictures of previous teams. The 1919 team picture had black players and in 1950, it’s team captain was black(from another big black family in the Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford area). So, this is a small town area with a consistent black population that has been there for well over a century.
