we just moved into Southern Dutchess County, about 2 weeks ago; we're pretty far west (ie, right near the Hudson)
A few days ago, we started to hear a noise that we hadn't heard before - coming from across the river. Someone told us it's coming from Danskammer Power Plant, across the river, in Newburgh.
Is this a constant noise, and we didn't notice it when we were house hunting or freshly moved-in? Or, is it usually not noisy, and it's only been noisy recently?
Someone else told me it's only noisy a few times a year, when it's being cleaned....
Any feedback about it would be appreciated.
We don't notice it when we're in the house, but we do notice it quite a bit when we're outside.
