I am thinking of relocating to the Oneonta area after an absence of 30 years and I would be renting. I actually go back to the late 1949's up in Westville where I went to a one-room schoolhouse. I can't imagine it actually changing in character but I'm sure more people and the ever increasing retail chain stores. Anybody here go back far enough to give me a decent evaluation? Thanks!

Well Oneonta certainly has changed just since 2000! There are number of chains there now. Having 2 colleges helps with growth. Brooks BBQ is still going strong. Doesn't look like it's been redecorated since the 50's.

Hartwick College. They've been in Oneonta since 1928.
