I would like to know if there are any good websites that would tell you what you can do and see in Jamestown, NY? Is it also a safe city to visit? Any help would be great.
Yes it's a very safe city. Some residents will moan about crime but we're about average in that respect and violent crime is below average. Mostly the biggest issues are burglary/theft and drugs...just like every other lower income city. Being a visitor you will very likely encounter neither.

Jamestown is a great place, to visit and live.It has so many historical sites and the lakes are breath taking.Especially Chatauqua Lake spelled it wrong of course.,Bemis point.,Lakewood area so many different places its countless.A must see place to enjoy old fashion traditions.I love it there and my family still all reside In Jamestown, I left because It is much to cold for my bones. If the winters didn't last so long I would still be there.Go and enjoy head to A.J Hotdogs on Second street amazing sauce you will never find anywhere else on the east coast.Say heelo to all for me.From one of nine sibilings Garris family .Much love to you.
I moved to Jamestown fifteen years ago from suburban Albany and before that, Buffalo. I have come to love Jamestown. It's like living in an overgrown small town, or in a city without most city hassles. If I could only convince the City Council to let me keep a couple horses in my backyard, I'd never move ...
Have no fear about visiting Jamestown. As Michael_atw said, crime is mostly modest property crime, and it's largely limited to the areas of town where visitors wouldn't be likely to go.
Some places to visit/things to do:
Visit the Fenton History Museum in the former Governor's Mansion on the foot of Forest Avenue to find out about the history of the area.
Take in a Jammers baseball game at Diethrick Stadium (remember the movie, Bull Durham? Jammers games offer that same game experience.)
Lakeview Cemetery is the final resting place of most of the Jamestown area's most prominent citizens, including Lucille Ball and her family.
One thing that you'll find is that Jamestowners, in general, tend to be very polite. Sometimes, we end up with traffic jams at 4-way stop signs because we all wave "the other guy" on, so nobody moves!
^It looks like the home is already off the market.
