I am on SSI and have a disabled daughter and am assuming a mortgae from a VA loan recipient who is being military transferred. I desperately need help with closing costs! where, If anywhere In the city Of Buffalo NY can I get this? I have looked everywhere and cannot find help for just closing costs! ANY help would be appreciated as we are on a time limit of another month, without help with these costs I may not be able to buy at all, this is a dream for me, can anyone advise???? Thank You In advance!

Go to a bank and see if you can take out a loan to cover the closing costs, or see if you can just roll them in to the mortgage.

Im not exactly sure what a VA Loan recepient is though, so maybe you can't do these things.

I feel your pain on this, closing costs are the biggest rip off in the housing industry. Throwing thousands down the drain. Good luck and I wish you the best in coming up with the money?

Do you have stuff you own in the attic or that you don't use that you could try to auction off?

Edit: Im assuming the person who has the current loan already has paid closing costs once, since it is a current loan. Why are you having to pay them again? Just to get it transferred to your name?

I'd be curious to see specific numbers and what those dollars are being levied against. I'm guessing you'll have attourney fees, title insurance, and the dreaded NYS mortage tax at least even with a transferrable mortgage.
