New York Enhanced Drivers License (how long, time, amount)

Can someone please tell me how long was the process once your number was called? What kind of questions do they ask? How long was the scanning process of your documents and do they scan everything you give them?

I am planning to get one and just want some additional information and be prepare and allocate the right amount of time during lunch/afterwork.

Also-do they allow you to keep your current DL or they take it back?
