I'll be moving to New York to intern w/ an investment bank. I'll either be working in New York or New Jersey. I want to keep my rent around $3,000s, preferably but are there any suggestions on what are cool areas to live in in terms of transportation, low crime rates, nightlife, etc?
Williamsburg is considered a cool area and would meet all your qualifications unless you wind up working in NJ,in which case you should probably live in Jersey City or Hoboken.
Well, it's hard to really give you an idea if you don't know where exactly you'll be working. There's many great neighborhoods, and your choice will likely depend on where you choose to work.
