Rosa's Pizza in Maspeth in Queens has the BEST Sicilian pizza. They're famous for it.

For the Bronx, I like the pizzeria that's on 165th ST and Fox St in Longwood. It used to be Ace pizzeria, now it's a Yankees' themed one.

My favorite is Piola on 12th Street and Broadway. It's more a sit down place (they don't sell slices) but the price is VERY reasonable. They have over 50 types of pizza. It's more the Italian/Brazilian style with thin crust and nice toppings.
Great for a big group as well. WEB SITE PIOLA (http://www.piola.it/mondo2.php?id=6 - broken link)

Brazilian pizza is basically the Italian crust with different topping (typical in Brazil). You will have a great selection of toppings there and not just the basic olive/sausage/burger/pepper/pepperoni in New York. Don't take me wrong, I do like NYC pizza but I very much enjoy having different toppings sometimes like heart of palm, different types of ham, smoked mozzarella and arugula, "catupiry cheese", .... I could go on forever!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray's_Pizza One of these days I'm going to have to get around to going to the Prince St. Ray's, I don't recall ever going there. The 6th Ave & 11th St. Ray's was one of the very best, it was a special treat. But some time ago it changed. Maybe it has new owners. Whatever the case, the pizza currently being served bears no resemblance to the pizza you are reading about in the old newspaper clippings on the walls.

I agree with you, nyctc7. Ray's on 11th and 6th was wonderful back in the 80's.
It got really bad when they changed owners in the early 90's.

Lately though, It has improved somewhat. It's nowhere near its former glory but I will at least eat there from time to time now.
