My favorite is Piola on 12th Street and Broadway. It's more a sit down place (they don't sell slices) but the price is VERY reasonable. They have over 50 types of pizza. It's more the Italian/Brazilian style with thin crust and nice toppings.
Great for a big group as well. WEB SITE PIOLA (http://www.piola.it/mondo2.php?id=6 - broken link)

Brazilian pizza is basically the Italian crust with different topping (typical in Brazil). You will have a great selection of toppings there and not just the basic olive/sausage/burger/pepper/pepperoni in New York. Don't take me wrong, I do like NYC pizza but I very much enjoy having different toppings sometimes like heart of palm, different types of ham, smoked mozzarella and arugula, "catupiry cheese", .... I could go on forever!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray's_Pizza One of these days I'm going to have to get around to going to the Prince St. Ray's, I don't recall ever going there. The 6th Ave & 11th St. Ray's was one of the very best, it was a special treat. But some time ago it changed. Maybe it has new owners. Whatever the case, the pizza currently being served bears no resemblance to the pizza you are reading about in the old newspaper clippings on the walls.
Patsey's on 1st and 118th st. Coal fired oven, thin crisp crustJust the best around. Picture of the Chairman of the Board on the wall. How can you go wrong?
