well im a nyc high school student and murray bergtraum hass gone badd.. beacon is definitely a good school; but too many kids apply and the cahncess of getting accepted aree thinner than harvard ( my guidance counsler told me this)

Art & Design HS was considered a top school in the late 80's early 90's when I attended, don't know how it ranks now.

Pfff...Murry Bergtraum wasn't that great when I was HS either. They have a good girl's basketball program, but that's about it, lol.

bluedog2 - In defense of Gary Fuller's post, Jesuit high schools were not inlcuded in the US News rankings. Gary Fuller is absolutely correct in ranking Regis High School #1. It is the best high school in NYC bar none. They are regents exempt due to their curriculum, their admissions are the toughest, and they will not even consider you unless you are one of the top two boys ranked out of your 8th grade class. US News also excluded the Jesuit high schools Xavier High School and Fordham Prep which are also among the top ten in NYC if you are considering graduation rates, SAT's, AP courses offered, sports and arts programs, and service to the community.
