I'm looking for some legitimate Italian restaurants in Brooklyn. Any ideas?

Italian restaurants in Brooklyn? That's kind of like walking into the Vatican and asking where to find the Catholics

If you provided a general area, some people could help better.

Well, the thing is, I've been to Brooklyn only like twice in my life so I don't know where the best area would be. I'm sure it would probably be somewhere in the southwest corner near Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, and Bay Ridge, but I'd like to hear some opinions of the best places from you guys..

Food at Areo's in Bay Ridge is pretty good (although can be a lil obnoxious). Also check out Tuscany Grill, also in Bay Ridge - small place, different feel.

Well, I have been living in Bensonhurst / Bath Beach for 19 years and while we have everything, we have NO good restaurants. I mena none, none noe, or they must be really hidden because I have yet to find them.
You will have to go to Bay Ridge and Park Slope, cause de aint here.

well lets narrow down the "italian" neighborhoods in brooklyn.

you have bensonhurst, bay ridge, dyker heights, bath beach, and carroll gardens.

i know there's a real famous one on court street in carroll gardens but the name escapes me. its next to an italian bakery and that place smells so good everytime i walk past it.

I second Nino's (pizza type place) across from the 76 Pct on Union St. The Red Rose on Smith St, too.

One of my all time favorites is Gino's in Bay Ridge!
