I will be going to Columbia-Mailman School of Public Health soon and I am wondering if anyone has any insight into the program? What about housing in the area? Should I consider looking into somewhere in New Jersey just across the bridge? Any suggestions? I will be looking for a roomate but I am not that familiar with housing in the area. Can anyone give me some information on the school, the area, housing, safety issues, relocating to New York from the south? Any insight at all will be helpful!!!

You might want to check on the main Columbia campus at 110 St to look at the bulletin boards about housing there. It's not a big deal to take the IRT on Broadway up to 168th St and it's a nicer area than up near the medical school.
