I just checked my January bill online and it says it is using the 2022 tax rates and my taxes went down about 5%. That was a nice surprise.

When property taxes stop rising by $500-$1000 I will call it a win.
Savings of 40,50 or 60 dollars once every couple of years is a slap in the face.

My quarterly taxes are $200 lower than last quarter. That’s significant.

I know you can check the property tax bill online but did you not get the property tax bill through the mail?

A slap in the face!
There should be zero increase for property taxes while defunding of police and zero bail
policy is in place. Our taxes are part of a multifaceted spending initiative by local politicos to make for
a better New York City. Removing cops off our street or letting violent repeat offenders walk our streets
until hearings is making our city less safe and as a result making my property value........ less valuable!

GIVE US BACK OUR MONEY !

As a homeowner you should keep on top of these things....

Taxes on Class 1 (Single to Three Family Homes) decreased as of 1 January 2022 to 18.881%.

https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/ne...-real-7394875/

Bad news is these decreases in taxes reflect dropping of assessed values.

Tax assessments for 2021/22 declined by their largest margin in > 25 years due to effects of covid-19. Overall city properties took a hit in market value of 5.2%.

I don't think property tax 'rate' went down, its just assessed home values.
