BUSHWICK — A neighborhood teenager was shot multiple times and killed by police officers four blocks from his home shortly after he allegedly robbed a convenience store for beer with a fake gun, according to police.

At 12:40 a.m. Sunday three police officers responded to a call for help at the Garden Deli at 185 Starr Street where the caller said there was an armed robbery taking place, according to Chief of Patrol Terence A. Monahan.

Eighteen-year-old Sergio Reyes had robbed three six-packs of Corona and a six-pack of Heineken and pointed what looked like a real gun at the store clerk, according to police and a surveillance camera photo they released.
Wow just for beer.

An idea! Don't go committing robberies with guns...Fake or otherwise...And you greatly reduce your chances of getting shot.

Just sayin.

Sad, but armed robbery is a risky business.

"Shot to Death By Police"

Uh, the title should read

"Idiot robs a store with a fake but real looking gun, police respond by shooting someone who they think has a real gun to protect the minority store owner and minority residents of the neighborhood, but is later found to be a fake gun"

Police 1

Back in the day the bodega workers would shoot the perp. At least now the cops are doing their job.

What if it were a real gun and fake beer?

If you brandish a weapon or something that looks like a weapon, you are asking to get shot. It is hard to feel sorry for people who do this much less place the blame on police who are charged with protecting the public safety.
