Is it possible to get a studio in Brooklyn for 1400 anywhere near Manhattan? (Yonkers: real estate, sublet)

I only am looking through the jumbled mess that is craigslist right now. Instead of sharing a room in Manhattan if I could get one in Brooklyn to myself I'd rather do that.
Any suggestions on what's probably the best site to use for this type of search?
Maybe Greenpoint or Clinton Hill? If you want to sacrifice a bit of safety: Bushwick, Redford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights. Then there's my favorite part of Brooklyn, aka south Brooklyn, which starts at Sunset Park and Kensington (for me). I think it depends though on what you mean by close as you'll likely be strained in your budget for Williamsburg and definitely for DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, etc.
I usually use Padmapper these days, but I also like Hotpads and NakedApartments. Hotpads isn't really that cheap these days though.
I can't believe people are paying $1450 to live in studios in WH. 15 years ago I looked at 1 bedrooms there for half that price. NY real estate sure is crazy.

Just like age 15yrs ago your age was lower and now its higher.
Im not kidding 4 blocks away from the 1450 studio is a 1200sf 2br for 1800. Sometimes things dont make exact sense in real estate either lol.
Westchester area has affordable housing (but not the cool cache of Brooklyn obviously). The commute would be the same or even faster if looking at the Bronxville/Yonkers area
