Hi all,

I'm going to be moving to NYC in July for a job. I'm just out of college and will be earning 65K. I want to live in a safe neighborhood either IN OR NEAR Manhatten, and am looking to spend under $1400 on rent. Where should I start looking?

Thanks

Washington Heights, Morningside Heights, Inwood

Other people on this forum will tell you to stay clear of those places, but trust me, it is really not that bad.

Well, Washington Heights IS that bad - I lived there. Inwood is better. But why must you live in Manhattan? Living in Inwood is farther away from things than living in some parts of Queens, but it IS Manhattan...
