Some are still around. I'm very goth today, brown lipstick and dark brown hair. I just need a pair of dock martins and wait a week until my hair is oily and stringy. Oh yes, and the spiked collar! This reminds me, my husband used to blast Marilyn Manson, with a speaker to the ceiling, to annoy our former neighbors who didn't mind their 2 kids doing laps around the apartment. First it was a little overwhelming, then we realized that we find ourselves humming his catchy tunes about death and drugs. Good times.

That said:

@NativeTransplant: It seems like Pittsburgh is an area to look into.

@CityLiving: Thanks. Would it be possible for me to get a short quote from her for the article? If so, PM me.

@NooYowkur: Come to think of it, I know a guy who was involved in the NYC scene and moved upstate. I'll see if I can track him down on Facebook.

@Samyn: If you haven't noticed, the Earth is full up on people. No matter what their race, a drop in anyone's reproductive rate is good.
I used to be into the punk/raver scene back in the 90s. Had all the piercings, etc. I just outgrew it...I would honestly feel so stupid walking around like that now.

The ones that I know that are still into it are mostly very immature, and unemployed. One guy I know still has the mohawk and piercings, spends his time at rock shows and crashing in his friend's basement (he doesn't work). It's almost like he's still in high school...I can tell by his FB posts. He's not a stupid guy either...just lazy.

I used to see them in the Fordham area several years ago:

There's one lady in a building close by, but I don't know her. She's probably in her 30s/40s.

Yodel: Thank you very much for that article.

Jen: After the glut of responses talking about people aging out of it, I'm considering expanding the topic to write about them, too.

Entangled: I'd like to message you with a few more questions, if you don't mind.

What could you possibly want to ask me based on my non-informative reply? Perhaps you'd like to know the name of the album we selected to annoy our neighbors?
