I never felt unsafe at Port Authority. It's a little gritty but located in a fine area. Does anyone have recent experience with the service at Port Authority? My bf was there about a month to catch the Greyhound. The ticket machines were broken and he had to wait about 45 min for the on the line for the window. He ended missing his bus during the time and teller wouldn't give him a refund. Luckily the driver on the next bus accepted his original ticket and didn't charge.
