So then a lower middle class person in NYC would have to live in a neighborhood with higher crime rates than their socio-economic counterparts elsewhere?

So you'd agree that overall NYC has both a higher crime rate and a higher pollution index than say Houston, Seattle, LA and Chicago?

Understood, and I'm just trying to figure out what this gauge is that you are using to compare these different locations without strictly going off of emotion.

because these locations are newer, not as crowded and not as dirty in general, these are facts, not emotion
even their ghettos look like middle class nhoods here, jus high crime

To some, older adds character and higher density brings vibrancy. These are opinions, not facts.
