Where are apartments cheaper? Brooklyn or Manhattan? How do you get from Brooklyn to Manhattan?

Brooklyn is cheaper overall, though both are ridiculously expensive by the standards of the rest of the country (and even the rest of the boroughs).

You can get there very easily on a number of subway lines, or you could walk or bicycle across the Brooklyn Bridge (highly recommended, at least once). Check out this subway map here:

mta.info | MTA Subway Map

B, D, N, Q, A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5 will all take you. I haven't taken the subway regularly in a long time, so someone else will be able to tell you which lines are more efficient, but Manhattan and Brooklyn are perhaps two of the easiest places to get from one to the other anywhere in the USA.

For me, the choice has always been a nice part of Manhattan vs. Brooklyn Heights. No other considerations.

OP- National statistics show Manhattan is most expensive place to live in United States. Brooklyn is the second. The choice is yours....

In general living in Manhattan is more expensive than living in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island.

As mentioned already there are plenty of subway lines that go between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
