That's what I heard on channel 5 yesterday morning. I know a lot of people on here that consider these areas ghetto but a lot more people are coming into these areas.
I used to go on naked apartments and I would see 1 bdrm apartments in CH for $1100, not so much anymore.
It just sucks that the rent is increasing. But I guess that's nyc for ya.
But as predicted, Crown Heights and Prospect Lefferts Gardens gentrification will go on. How could it not ? Considering these areas have some nice and well built architecture.

Channel 5 is way late with this. The New York Times has already spotlighted these neighborhoods.
I've lived in the area most of my life, so I have been witnessing the transition with my own eyes.
If you are off the Q line, that provides an easy commute to Manhattan. Same thing if you were near the Franklin Avenue train station on the 2, 3, 4, 5.
Now with the rents going up when will we see more reductions in crimes? Higher rents should be pushing out the undesirables.
I assume that you believe that every working class person is undesirable...maybe even including yourself.
The next bubble will be when all these kids whose parents pay their rents grow up and then cannot afford $3,000 for a iBR when their parents tire of doing this.
