There were some threads on this, but they were from a while back so I just wanted to quickly ask something in case the information in those were outdated.
I got caught last night by a traffic camera after crossing a seemingly quick yellow light. Just wondering : is the penalty of the ticket still 50$ and do they charge you any additional fees and penalties like service fees and taxes that make the total more than 50$?
did this happen in NY city? I don't know if the city even has these cameras. if you were browsing the automotive threads and saw a similar thread, that one was about Yonkers, NY which has the red light system
NYC definitely has red light cameras, I was caught by one a few years ago.
Red light camera tickets are treated like parking tickets, you can pay them online through the same system. Check there (a few days after the violation) and it will tell you how much you owe.
Happened in Queens. I just wanted an immediate answer to the price because I'm a college student on a tight budget. Thanks for the answers guys.
