I know that the wtc path station is supposed to have a connection to the subway but how do I find it after getting off path train? I've only tried once but I tried following the signs and I ended up going up the escalators and eventually went outside. Where can I find the subway connection ? Thanks in advance!

It will have one after construction is complete, but there is not one now.

The best way to get to the 2 and 3 trains is at Park Place, that USED to be connected to the WTC by a tunnel running up under Church Street.
Now you have to come up the big escalator and exit at Vesey Street and walk East a block. At Church and Vesey, you can either turn left and walk a couple blocks or go down into the subway and walk North along the same tunnel.

But like Kenny said, there is no direct underground connection until they open the new station sometime in 2075-2095.

The best way to get to the 4 or 5 up the East Side is to walk along Fulton to Broadway and go into the Fulton Street Station. You CAN get the 2 and 3 there too but it is a long hike IN the immense station. (For some reason the West Side IRT is far to the East of the East Side trains...but then a public used to the silly vagaries of the MTA are used to goofiness like that.)
