Hey all! So, I will be visiting NYC in early April and I was curious to know how the weather is at that time. Is it typical to still need a coat? Would wearing dresses and skirts be bearable? Or open toe shoes? There is definitely not snow anymore right? These may sound like stupid questions and I'm sure the weather can and will be unpredictable but if you all could give me a basic idea I'd really appreciate it.

Truly depends on your level of comfort, to be honest. Normally in April coats are packed away. Usually I wear my denim layered with another jacket/or pull over. As well as my leather jacket some days, but mostly at night because the temperature drops a little more then, but it's still bearable in my opinion.

I mention your level of comfort though because some people may think Mid-50's to 60 degrees is still pretty chilly. But not us! That's Spring in it's best form. Lol

I think one needs a light jacket in the spring but not the heavy long winter coats. I wouldn't wear open toe shoes as it is quite cool in the early morning and at night.

Well, I was born and raised in Chicago but am currently in TX and unfortunately I think my skin has adapted to extreme heat and now does poorly against the cold.. So I suppose this means I should dress a bit more warm than I had planned... especially since I think my s/o and I will be doing a lot of walking..

LOL I definitely wouldn't go with the open toe shoes or sandals. Personally, I love the weather around April. It's breezy cool in the early morning/late night and easy going warm during the afternoon (usually around the 60s). Perfect time to just put on a hoodie and go for a walk.

Seeing that you're coming from TX, it may be a little difficult at first. If you stick with it, you may come to enjoy the easy going weather in March/April.

Well, it wouldn't be toes all out.. I meant more like, peep toes.. 90% covered with just a dash of open toe, but I guess either way it isn't a good idea now that I think about it more..

I was there in Sept and I really loved the weather so I'm hoping it'll be nice in April too

What do you think the weather will be early next month? Here in Michigan it's been pretty cold, today it 17 degrees.

March is rather changeable, my guess is somewhere in the 40s
