Blarney Stone, with it's famous steam table and carving board complete with all the meats and trimmings, seems to be gone. The one on 121 Fulton St closed in 2009, the one on W 32 street off 6th is gone, 48th and 8th gone...all had steam tables. casual, informal, i always felt comfortable in those places
any similar places where you can walk in and get a sandwich or a plate? Nothing like a plate of turkey or brisket with boiled potatoes and cabbage...
I think there might be one on 33rd street off 7th and 47th off 8th but they don't appear to have the steam tables tho they appear similar otherwise
you know at first i thought you were getting X rated facetious, then i ran a search and indeed saw it listed(I didn't realize Pearl St met Beaver st). looks really cool!!

maybe im wrong but i think the 48/8 location moved to 47/8 around the corner from duane reade (8/47). i think it's blarney stone, but if it's not then it's another definite irish joint - shamrocks on the shopfront, etc., etc. i've never been in it but i've passed it
edit: i see you're aware of the irish business on 47/8. sorry, i read too quickly.
Man, I miss those old joints. They used to be all over the city - Blarney Stone, Rosie O'Grady's, and the like. The Blarney Stone on Fulton near Nassau Street shut down last year.
I remember visiting NYC about 10-12 years ago and randomly walking into one of those Blarney Stones, which I believe was the one located at 32 & 6. It was on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed full of people watching the Giants game. Everyone in the place seemed like locals with New York accents, and the place had a very friendly vibe. Oh, and I ate off the steam table as well! Too bad these casual type, old-school bars are going away.
i was last in the 32/6th BS in 2007. they closed down after that.
