Doing a project and need help from people with first hand knowledge.. I got a CUNY school this is for a project.

In the areas with Public Housing would you say there is more or less crime in the near vicinity of the area?

The people who live in Public Housing, how strong is the sense of community?

If so How strong is it and what are the values, is it more prevalent in certain housings or is the same for most?

How do you feel about the image that Public Housing as in America?

What do you find more helpful for low income families, large public Housing buildings or Section 8?

Is there a favorite neighborhood for government aid housing that people tend to want to live in, what’s the favorite?

Hi, don't know if this is helpful. I am seeking to relocate to NY and need subsidized housing due to disability. I have lived in subsidized housing since 1998 in SD and Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. A lot depends on who manages it. 516 Humboldt, St. Paul, is Senior/Disabled, good management, nice grounds, secure, etc. 2121 E. 9th, Seward Square, Mpls, is the worst neighborhood I had lived in: gunshots, daylight break-ins, less-than-caring landlord, only 1 elevator that broke down a lot; a swipe card entry only, which was very unhandy when it stopped working; I would be glad to give you more of my insights if you are interested. I am currently resident of South Dakota, but seeking to move East soon.
