This week i went to canarsie brookyn to see family member, its not the same as it used to be i lived on 79street and glenwood road . my old apartment tured into a drs office . i was really upset i left in 1980 and have not gone back since. i used to go to p.s. 276 that really looks strange. we used to go to lennys clam bar not the same. why does things have to change i had a great time in brooklyn.and as for ridgewood queens gone bad too.
Oy vey....people move away and expect the neighborhood to stay just as they left it--like mom and dad leaving their old bedroom intact long after they've grown up. You don't live there anymore, so why are you so upset and offended?
i love all kinds of people.i really dont like change. they tore down buildings and my schoollooks different. those were happy times for me. the neighborhood was quite.and i felt when i moved things were going too be the same. i guess i should move on and except change.

it is quiet not quite
and also it is accept change not except change.
with that taken care of, it is not YOUR NH. The people who live there now are the ones who can say it's THEIR NH. it USED to be your NH as in when you LIVED there as in PAST tense...... and maybe if you didn't want it to change, you should have stayed there and prevented "YOUR" school from being converted into a doctor's office.

lisa lee: i too used to live on glenwood and 79th! my family moved in 1993 and i miss it all the time. the neighborhood is so different, and it is very sad. my brother and i both went to p.s. 276 also.

This much is perfectly true. But having agreed with that, I must say that I know exactly where Lisalee is coming from. I was born in Brownsville...and in 2009 Brownsville bears absolutely NO relation to the neighborhood I lived in as a kid.
The history of every neighborhood in New York City in one word: change.
