I'm thinking of moving to cobble hill in bklyn. How is the neighborhood? Is transportation to the city convenient? Any ideas on how much a 1 br apt would cost in that area?

Thanks!

One of my favorite parts of Brooklyn. Expensive however, I would think most 1BR apts are 2K and over.

Cobble Hill is lovely and convenient. Friends bought in decades ago when it was the poor sister of Brooklyn Heights. No more!

If you can afford it, go for it.

A "roomy 1 br" for $1500 does not exist in Cobblle Hill.

Perhaps you have the neighborhood confused or the apt is not actually in Cobble Hill.

I agree. The apartment was probably advertised as Cobble Hill but it is probably not.I don't think there are any decent 1,500/mo 1 br apartments in Cobble Hill.

Read this glowing description of the neighborhood on About.com.

A Guide to Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

The entry states the going rate for one-bedroom apartments at $1800-2200. However, you never know. You might find a good deal. Maybe a studio will do?
