A couple of years back, why?? You think I am accusing the north of being dirty and grimy?? No, I am accusing NYC of being dirty and grimy.
I think you need to get out and explore the country more ever City is dirty or has its Dirty spots. Even Little Rock has some dirty spots , its called the Industrial areas...
I have toured NYC on google maps and seen pics of the city. Everywhere I look the city seems dirty and run down, the subways look the worst. I am pretty sure NYC being an illegal alien sanctuary city has something to do with it, but good grief. I jump over the big pond to London, which is around the same size as NYC, and I tour that city. By contrast, London is a beautiful city, with lovely architecture and clean streets all over. London also has a lot buildings that are much much older than buildings in NYC, and the buildings in London still look great vs. NYC.
Today, I'm packing up the family, and we're going on a tour of EUROPE!!!
And the best part is, we're not even leaving the house!!!!
Nope, we're going to camp out around the trusty old 17 inch flat screen monitor and fly Google Airlines.
This vacation is sooooo much more cost effective during this economic crisis...why didn't I think of it sooner.

And just because you say something wrong over and over again doesn't make it right. But I guess logical thinking is, in fact, a liberal conspiracy as well.
Google maps allows you to go down the streets like you are actually walking or driving down them. They have been recently updated as a user said too. I have also had people who have visited the NYC tell me it is a very dirty town. In contrast, the people who have also visited London and Tokyo have great things to say about it. They say their subways are also very clean(especially Tokyo's). I have seen most of the pics of the NYC subway stations and they look like a dirty restroom at some hole in the wall joint. Even their above ground subways look rotten and dirty. Also NYC has a large population of illegal aliens, which also add a great deal to the filth.
Also the buildings and subways in NYC look very worn out, old, and not taken care of. London does a very good job or preserving their old buildings. Same with Tokyo and Paris and many other European and Asian cities.
It sounds like you need to get off your couch and actually visit these places. I am born and raised in Manhattan and have been to London literally dozens of times, London is not much cleaner overall than New York. Secondly, they are not the same size, as somebody else said, New York is much more densley populated. New York is more populated than LA, Chicago, and Philly combined, in an area not much bigger than Chicago. I think considering that, the city is pretty damn clean.
