The "R160A" is used only for the J,L,M,Z, E, F,N,Q,R Trains. I like this design and interior the most.

The oldest line, that goes back to the early 20's/30's I believe. Lol
As for trains that's a little more up to date. . .I believe it was the "J" with this design.

The last pic was the oldest trains I've been on recently! They use them on the Franklin st. shuttle.

[quote=StuddedLeather;17745724]We can't complain about the aesthetics of our trains.
Look at what they use to look like (Which I think is pretty cool to see, only in an artsy type of way).

Why did they allow it to get so out of hand. What are they doing to prevent it now? I rarely even see a poster defaced.

And that's also what the subways in Rome look like! (Unless of course, a miracle has occurred since the last time I was there )

Default Subways

The city pays out million to companies like CEMUSA a Spain company for example to always redo the glass bus stops they mismanage the funds and NYer's have to deal with service delay, urine infested stations, unsanitary conditions, rodents etc. I lived in NY my whole life and hopefully someone who can manage a budget and stop paying companies from outside countries can step in and make a difference.

They have all this money to add schedules of when the train is due to arrive in stations, but nothing to fix the decaying subway.

No. Cemusa pays the city to install and maintain bus stops and profits from the advertising on them.

"Cemusa will pay the City almost $1.4 billion in monetary and other compensation over the twenty-year term of the contract. Cemusa delivered the first $50 million payment in June 2006."

And NYC is not in charge of the subway or its stations. MTA is, a state agency. Bus stops are street furniture.

D.C. Subways are cleaner but not as effective. They couldn't handle the ppl at the john stewart rally. D.C. Dropped the ball. I'll take effective useful subways over pretty ones

r46's are my fav because i ride the f train...i miss them but whatever.
the new trains all look the same. there's no variety anymore, they don't have the cool start/stop sound the old f trains had, they don't have color anywhere (like the rollsigns on the B/D or the bullets on the front of the B/D trains, for example) and i'm not into the automated announcers.

but its 2011. times change. i just wish that the money was spent on helping eastern queens out because they need it, IMO.

why extend the 7 into jersey and leave eastern queens taking buses just to get to the first stop on the F train on 179th st which is mad far from manhattan??? how much longer will those ppl suffer?
